The summer holidays are drawing to a close, so why not join us in saying a fond farewell until next year? We’ve scoured the Island for things to do during September to make the most of the last bits of sunshine before autumn comes knocking, so without further ado here’s our list of 5 things to do this month!
1. Sweetcorn Fayre
When? 24th & 25th September
Without sounding “corny”, we thought we’d start things off with the “cream of the crop”…Ok, we’re done with the corn puns now, we promise! Celebrating its 10th year, the Sweetcorn Fayre is back and ready to supply you with corn-related treats whilst you watch the majestic “Alpaca Agility Course” or hold on to the edge of your seat as you get trackside action from the “snail racing”. With fun activities for the whole family and a variety of craft stalls, the Sweetcorn Fayre promises to be bigger and better than ever. Perhaps most importantly of all, you’ll be helping raise money for charity in the process!
2. Bestival 2016
When? 8-11th September

The Island’s award winning festival is back once again, featuring a line up which is bigger and better than ever! Bestival plays host to a wide range of music icons from The Cure to pioneering drum and bass label Hospital Records, so there’s sure to be something to appeal to the music fans amongst us.
3. International Classic Car Show
When? 17th-18th September
Celebrating its 15th year, The Charity Classic Car show promises to be a spectacular event for petrol heads across the Island. Enthusiasts from across the UK & Europe are here to showcase the finest classic cars and the best part is that it’s free!
4. Bembridge Harbour Food Festival
Where? Bembridge Harbour
When? 24th-25th September
Budget? Entry is free but the food varies
The Bembridge Harbour Food Festival is back once again after a popular 2015. Featuring food from Bembridge’s finest pubs and restaurants and food suppliers, it’s a great way to enjoy something a little different. There is sure to be something appealing for every palette!
5. Saturday Night Outdoor Cinema
When? 3rd September
Budget? Up to £7.50pp
This is your last chance this year to enjoy the Outdoor Cinema, and what better way than reliving the original “Ghostbusters” movie? Watch this classic movie in the newly renovated woodland amphitheatre this Saturday. Doors open from 19:45 and the movie is set to begin at around 20:45
